It is the reason why in ancient times the Israelites were kept in the desert for 40 years so that certain transitions could take place around them but that they themselves would remain as they were for a variety of reasons. We will not go into the reasons right now. We have discussed some of them before. They have to do with the idea of the maintaining of certain genetic lines to be brief.
